The cheerleader and the football player

This picture is the first known picture of Andy and I. It was taken in the fall of 1996. It is where our story begins. It's being posted today to celebrate this event that took place seven years ago today:
Happy Anniversary papabent! I love you. xoxoxo

Tball time

Saturday night was Charlie's first ever Tball game! He plays for the Maricopa Parks and Rec, and his team is the Angels. He had fun, got two hits, and socialized quite a bit when he was "out in the field". Practices are every Thursday and games are every Saturday evening. His age group is 4-6 years so he is the youngest and smallest on his team. (First time ever one of my boys has been the smallest in anything!) Oh, and his number is 3.

Cooper got bored and thought it was more fun to make funny faces and run around. Guess he didn't feel the need to watch his brother play ball.

Father's Day

Father's Day was spent in California and in the car driving home. We stopped at a place called Boomer's in San Diego on our way out and played putt-putt golf, video games, and drove go-karts. The boys loved it, including Andy! Happy Daddy's Day Andy, you're a good papa. We love you!

CALIFORNIA

The boys and I spent this past weekend in California. We went for a fun weekend, and Andy's oldest brother, Dannie, was having a birthday. His 40th to be exact. We left for San Diego Friday morning and got home Sunday evening. It was quick, but just enough beach time to satisfy us all. We had a blast. We got to eat at our two favorite restraunts: Las Olas and The Potato Shack. The kids always do well in California. Too bad we came home to 114 degrees! That ocean breeze always feels soooo good!

Our crab we found.

Hangin' tough

new kids on the block

Yup. I got tickets to see the hottest concert of the summer! Ever since the age of, oh maybe 9, I've always dreamed of going to see New Kids on the Block in concert. Now that it's almost twenty years later I am finally going! October. Oh and to make the childhood dream even more spectacular, I got floor seats!! It sure will be fun to see "kids" who are damn near fifty sing Step by Step. I wonder if Joey can still sing Candy girl???

Magic money sent from the Heavens

falling money

Yesterday I got a letter in the mail from Wells Fargo. I thought for a minute is was junk mail, but decided to open it just in case. Turns out they did a review of an account I had and closed close to three years ago. I was inadvertently charged a fee on the account when I closed it (that was never supposed to happen) and I was getting it back! PLUS, they were paying me interest on the money from the last three years!! Long story short I got a random check in the mail yesterday for over $600! That's what I call magic money. Summer vacations here I come!

Jack

Last night at the dinner table, Cooper pointed to himself and said "me Jack". After two and a half years, Cooper has never referred to himself by his actual name. It's something his speech therapist has been desperately working on, but has had no success. For him to call himself something was exciting. I think he came up with "Jack" from either The Incredibles, or Zoom. Both of those are movies about superheroes. He woke up today, still telling everyone to call him Jack. He gets angry and growls at you when you say Cooper, Coop, Coopie, or any other name we used to use. I guess he just likes to be a Jack. Ironic thing is, the name Jack was on our short list when I was pregnant with him, and in all honesty it was Andy's #1 pick...maybe Coop is trying to tell us something.
