Poopsie is 4!

Cooper turned 4! He had such a nice time. My parents were here and we celebrated with a spongebob cake and a trip to Mall of America to ride some serious rides! Cooper said it was "the best birfday efer" He rode the log ride at Nickelodeon Universe maybe 30 times! Four and Fearless.

I caught it!

Somehow I got this on camera, and it really amazes me! My mom and dad were here, again! (totally awesome) Anyways, there was a whole lot of hiding, fibbing, lying, and tricking about who was coming and when. It was all a big surprise during an entire day. The kids were surprised and my mom was surprised to see my dad come home from China a whole day early! We put on a good show for some strangers at the Minneapolis airport.
This is the boys attacking my mom as she walked out

Hey! Look Nana! Papa is here!

Too cute.

First snow and a tree

This was the first real snow of the season.
Aren't they precious?!

Our tree.

A Thanksgving of our own

This was the first one all by ourselves. That also means this was the first one where I had to coook...and no, the house didn't burn down! We survived. We had a nice time, although we all got a little nostalgic a few times during the day. Here's our little spread

Look at me, fatty Mcgee! O.k. first, this was my pie that I made that tasted oh so yummy. Second, I look like I have consumed about 80 of these pies by myself! Yes, I have already put on some of my "winter weight" but in my defense this is shot at a "very bad angle"

(get it?!)

Depression can hit anyone during the holidays. Even Duncan.

Wisco trip

We drove my mom to Wisconsin and dropped her off there at the beginning of November. Just a quick trip, but we did manage to get doughnuts and kringle! yum. We didn't take the van, we took Andy's car. Poor Nana had to sit back there with those knuckleheads for 6 hours!

by the way, those are sleep number beds that they had in that hotel room. We HATED them! We were all sore and stiff for three days after sleeping on them.

Leaf control

This is a little old-fall is now gone and winter has moved in...

Our house is on a corner. And it has several large trees. It looks pretty, until the middle of October. That's when it gets chilly and thousands of leaves are covering your front yard and it is your JOB to clean them up! We all got our rakes out and got to work. (Five pound loss for both Andy and I after raking everything up!)

Good news is, we don't have sidewalks. For all you desert people that means less work when the snow comes. (We only have to shovel the driveway)

COSTUME CHANGE
(for Cooper)

Yup, we did Halloween Minnesota style this year! As usual Nana TOTALLY out did herself and made us some kick a$$ costumes! We loved trick or treating this year, even in the cold weather. What a great day and night for us. My mom and dad are here now, and we're having a blast. More posts soon!
ps. we missed you this year Skyler and Zane!

Where the Wild Things Are

We saw it. We loved it. We want to see it again.

October 10,2009

What a day this was!
We started this day by getting up at 4am (Minnesota time) On our way to the airport, this is what we were dealing with:
That's right, snow! We told the kids to hurry up so we could get outta here and get to Phoenix!

Once we arrived in Arizona, (1:00 pm Arizona time) this is what we were doing:

Doesn't that just seem amazing? Snow in the AM, swimming and sunshing in the afternoon. Gotta love it.

Fun Facts

* We will be in Phoenix October 10-17th. Hallelujah!
* Both boys are doing well in school. (We think)
* It is very cold and rainy here. The forecast calls for SNOW on Sunday. (hence the hallelujah)
* The boys and I almost ran into a deer. We were driving fast. It was scary.
* Another deer was just hanging out in our front yard today. So weird!
* And for a not-so-fun fact, Andy found out he won't finish his Masters in March as planned, instead it will be June. BOOOOOOO!

Many posts to come after the trip!
